Lightroom 101

Think Lightroom is complicated? Let’s fix that.

Join SPC President Shawn Wyrozub for a fun, relaxed virtual mentoring session designed specifically for photographers who are new to Adobe Lightroom Classic—or who have opened it, stared at it for five minutes, and wondered, “Okay… now what?”

In Lightroom 101, Shawn will walk you through the basics of Lightroom Classic from the ground up. We’ll start with getting Lightroom set up properly, then work our way through importing and organizing your photos, the basics of editing, and finally exporting your finished images.

We’ll cover things like:

• Setting up Lightroom Classic
• Understanding the Lightroom interface without needing a map
• Importing and organizing your photographs
• The basics of Lightroom’s editing tools
• Exposure, contrast, colour and other essential adjustments
• Cropping and straightening
• Making your photos look better without making them look weird
• Exporting your finished images for sharing, printing and more

This isn’t about turning you into a Lightroom wizard overnight. It’s about helping you understand what the tools do, why you might use them, and how to build a simple editing workflow that works for you.

There will be plenty of room for questions, so bring your Lightroom questions, your curiosity, and maybe a photograph or two that you’ve been fighting with. Shawn promises not to judge your editing choices… much.

And remember: there are no stupid questions. If Lightroom has you confused, chances are someone else is wondering the exact same thing.

So grab your computer, fire up Lightroom, and let’s get those sliders moving in the right direction.
