On-line Meeting: February 2, 2022

We hope everyone has had the opportunity to dig out from the latest Nor’ Easter to be hurled our way, and that everyone is getting out and realizing some photographic opportunities available only while the snow is around.

As we are continuing to conduct our meetings according to provincial health guidelines, we will continue to meet online until we have the opportunity to gather in person once again.

Those of us who dare to look up with all the recent snow can often take advantage of winter’s crisp clear nights to capture the night sky.  Our our guest speaker on February 2nd has an affinity for the night sky, which can be seen within her spectacular collection of night-time images.

Monika Deviat is an award-winning photographer, educator and speaker based out of Alberta, Canada. Monika’s photography spans multiple genres and demonstrates her versatility, technical skills, and unique perspective. Her career began with concert photography, taking her across North America to shoot hundreds of bands and dozens of festivals. In 2015, she shifted from shooting stars on stage to stars in the sky.

Night photography has become Monika’s personal favourite genre, and it goes hand in hand with her landscape and adventure images. She is driven to capture unique scenes that inspire a sense of wonder and appreciation for the wild places surrounding us. Her photos have been published in national and international books, magazines, and webzines. As a workshop instructor, Monika is passionate about sharing knowledge and creating memorable experiences.

As always, we will present regular News and Club Business, along with our regular updates to round out our evening.

We look forward to seeing everyone online this Wednesday, from the comfort of your home!

Pull up a chair, grab a snack, pour yourself a beverage and enjoy the meeting!
