What is “Edit My Raw”?

Edit My Raw is your chance to peek behind the curtain and see how everyone else’s brain works. Members submit one RAW image straight out of camera, then take a crack at editing a few images from other members. There’s no judging, no critiques, and no “you should have done this” — just a bunch of photographers saying, “Huh… I’d try it this way.” Whether you’re brand new to editing or you’ve got presets older than your camera bag, this is all about experimenting, learning, and realizing there’s more than one right answer. Expect subtle edits, bold experiments, and at least one version that makes you say, “I never would’ve thought of that… but I kind of love it.” Everyone’s welcome, curiosity required!

Edit My Raw – The Rules (the easy-going kind)

If your software can’t open a RAW file, help is available (a DNG version can be provided).

Submit one RAW image, straight out of camera (your camera’s native RAW format or DNG).

Images must be safe for work — keep it club-friendly.

Each participant will edit four images from other members, plus their own.

This is not a competition and not a critique — experimenting and having fun is strongly encouraged.

There are no editing rules: stick with your usual workflow or try something completely different.

Edited images must be exported as JPEG files, sized to 1920px on the long edge, following SPC guidelines.

Participation can be 100% anonymous if you prefer — no pressure, no spotlight.

Edit My Raw – Timeline

March 18, 2026 – Final edits are shared and presented during a Sackville Photography Club meeting

February 22, 2026 – Deadline to sign up and join the Edit My Raw session

February 28, 2026 – Deadline to submit one RAW image to the coordinator

March 1, 2026 – Participants receive a link to five images (their own plus four others) to edit

March 15, 2026 – Edited images are due back to the coordinator (JPEG format)
