Sackville Photography Club – Meeting April 15th 2026

Join us for an evening of storytelling, travel, and wildlife photography with Tina and Darrel Nicks, as they share their journey photographing wildlife in Africa.
This presentation isn’t just about dramatic images (though there will be plenty of those). Tina and Darrel will walk us through the experience behind the photographs — the planning, the patience, the surprises, and the moments that don’t make it into captions. From early mornings to long waits, they’ll talk about what it’s really like to photograph wildlife in unfamiliar landscapes.
They’ll also touch on the practical side of wildlife travel photography: working with light and distance, respecting animals and environments, and adapting when nothing goes according to plan (which, in wildlife photography, is most of the time).
Whether Africa is a dream destination for you or you simply enjoy seeing how others approach wildlife photography, this will be an engaging, honest look at what happens when preparation meets opportunity.
All skill levels welcome. Come curious. Leave inspired.
