SUMMARY:Sackville Photography Club Meeting - January 7th 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a breathtaking start to the new year as we welcome Nova Scotia-based photographer Adam Cornick to the Sackville Photography Club! \nOriginally from Cornwall\, UK\, Adam moved to Nova Scotia in 2008 — and quickly fell in love with the province’s raw\, untamed beauty. Since then\, he has dedicated himself to capturing the extraordinary hidden in everyday moments through wide-angle landscape and seascape photography. His work is a tribute to the dramatic coastlines\, windswept beaches\, rugged granite boulders\, and towering cliffs that define Nova Scotia’s natural identity. \nAdam’s presentation\, The Ordinary in the Extraordinary\, explores how he finds magic in the mundane and turns fleeting moments into timeless images — in all seasons and all types of weather. Through his lens\, crashing waves and overcast skies become powerful expressions of place\, emotion\, and storytelling. \nWhether you’re a landscape photographer\, a storm chaser\, or someone who simply wants to see Nova Scotia through new eyes\, this talk will offer inspiration\, insight\, and a fresh perspective on the world around us. \nYou can check out more of Adams work here; \nWebsite \nInstagram \nFree for SPC members. Guests welcome with a pass — email membership@sackvillephotoclub.com to request one.

SUMMARY:Field Trip - Ross Farm Museum
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a photography field trip to Ross Farm during Blacksmith Weekend\, where the glow of the forge and the rhythm of traditional craftsmanship will offer a warm\, atmospheric setting for photography. The blacksmith’s hearth provides a rare chance to work with dramatic light\, motion\, and texture\, while the rest of the homestead offers plenty to explore — from animals to historic buildings and daily farm activities. \nThis outing is a great opportunity to practice storytelling\, detail shots\, and environmental portraits in a lively but approachable setting. \nThis field trip is open to current Sackville Photography Club members only.

SUMMARY:Sackville Photography Club Meeting - January 21st 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of inspiration and practical insight with two of our own SPC members. \nTarek El Wazzi will take us into the world of night photography — from chasing stars and city lights to working with darkness instead of fighting it. He’ll talk about approach\, preparation\, and what actually matters once the sun goes down. \nRoss Hartinger will follow with a look at travel photography\, sharing how to tell stronger stories on the road\, make the most of unfamiliar places\, and come home with images that go beyond the typical postcard shot. \nWhether you’re curious about shooting after dark\, dreaming of your next trip\, or just looking to see how other photographers think and work\, this will be a relaxed\, engaging evening with plenty to take away. \nAll skill levels welcome. Come curious. \nIf you would like to join us as a guest\, please reach out to our great membership coordinator at membership@sackvillephotoclub.com

SUMMARY:Field Trip - Brookline Trail and Waterfall
DESCRIPTION:Time to get off the couch and go for a walk — the water is flowing again. \nJoin us for an easy stroll along Brookline Drive Trail\, a relaxed walk with plenty of photographic interest along the way. The trail features a great variety of lichen and interesting trees\, making it ideal for macro and detail photography\, and it ends at a beautiful waterfall fed by the stream flowing from Hobsons Lake. \nThe trail itself is straightforward\, but the final 100 metres near the waterfall becomes more uneven\, with roots\, rocks\, and trees to navigate. A hiking pole may be helpful for that last section. Depending on conditions\, there may also be icy patches\, so ice grips are recommended. \nWe’ll wrap up the outing with a well-earned stop at Levantic Bakery — widely considered one of the best bakeries in the city. \nThis field trip is open to current Sackville Photography Club members only.
